This dessert is so easy and pleasurable, you really can’t go wrong by making it. The cake is a dense and moist confection with a full almond flavor, which is delicious on its’ own, but sings with the raspberry preserves.

And that, to me, is the definition of a perfect dessert; when you can make each ingredient sing, harmonizing in your mouth a moment of joy that can only be described as sublime.
