“Widely known as the godfather of music photography, Jim Marshall maintained a 50 year career that resulted in over 500 album covers, an abundance of magazine covers, and some of the most celebrated images in blues, jazz, country, and rock and roll.”
This is the quote that most aptly describes the immensely rich exhibit at the ACL Live Gallery, which opened on September 14, 2011. It was literally a jaw dropping experience because as you stand in front of each photograph, every single one is as iconic as the one that came before it. It’s an incredible show and one of my favorite exhibits I’ve been to in the last year because the space is so intimate, you really do feel like you are walking down the hall of Jim Marshall’s house, looking at his personal favorite pictures and each one is of a legend.
The exhibit will run through the fall of 2014 and is the most comprehensive, longest running public display of Jim Marshall’s work to date.
