Day Four: Palm Springs to Santa Barbara

In three and a half quick hours, we drove through LA on I-10 and arrived at our friend’s house in Santa Barbara. We opened all the windows and doors and sprinted for the beach. Leo ran right into the water with all his clothes on. Thank god he only had his flip flops on. Then we got just enough groceries for dinner (New York strip steak, mixed greens salad, and zucchini, onion, tomato basil sautée) cooked, and fell heavily to sleep in our beds as the temperature dropped down to a crisp 60 and we kept every single window and door wide open so we could hear the ocean breath us to sleep.

Today is going to be killer. I’m hitting Yoga Soup for some vinyasa and then, popping into Chaucer’s Books to say hello and pick up a good book to read, then at 5:30pm, we are meeting a nice group of friends for the famous Farmer’s Market…so stay tunned! Lot’s of gluten free magic up my sleeves. (I packed an arsenal of gluten free flours, so yes, I will be creating new recipes at this out post…) For now, it’s my morning Nespresso with frothed almond milk and a walk on the beach…and a huge thanks to my friends for the red carpet welcome!!!
